PDO THREADS

non-invasive to help
loose and sagging skin

What is NovaThreads?

NovaThreads is a non-invasive treatment to help loose and sagging skin. A more detailed description is that they are absorbable surgical sutures composed of polydioxanone. These sutures have been used in cardiac surgeries for the past 60 years or more and are the safest materials to be implanted in the body.

NovaThreads can be used on their own as well as a great enhancement to fillers and Botox or Dysport.

How NovaThreads Work

A beautiful and healthy face has a “V-shape”.  As we age, this “V-shape” diminishes or inverts. Novathreads create a frame to support the tissues and keep them in the “V-shape”.  Novathreads are especially effective is the neck and jawline. This area is more challenging to treat effectively with Botox or fillers. These threads are placed underneath the skin to lift the loose skin, which heals itself by naturally creating new collagen.

How Our Process Works

Treatment

During the treatment, a preloaded needle is inserted into the skin. Your injector then leaves the thread beneath the skin when she removes the needle. Your skin gently reacts to the threads and begins repairing itself around the suture.

The threads can be placed to stimulate collagen in areas of volume loss or to fill a fold. They can also can be used to pull and tighten the skin, such as that of the neck or brows. Over the next 4-6 months, your skin absorbs the threads and they won’t leave behind scar tissue.

Results

NovaThreads are a quick and easy way to get immediate results with long-term benefits. The PDO thread will be absorbed by your body, but that doesn’t mean your skin won’t react to it. During the 4 to 6 months needed to fully absorb the PDO suture, your skin is also repairing itself around it. And anti aging benefits can last up to 1 year.

That repair process is called “controlled healing”. In medical terms “selective inflammatory response” is the principle behind a lot of aesthetic procedures (such as fractional laser, chemical peels, and microneedling). Our skin is very good at repairing itself, and by inserting Novathreads we make it heal itself by creating new collagen, naturally!
